Experienced Educator, Colorado Springs Native, Parent Advocate
Hello everyone, thank you for visiting our campaign page and for taking the time to learn more about our efforts. Jason was born and raised in Colorado Springs, attending Carver Elementary School, Sabin Middle School, and graduating from Doherty High School in 2003. He obtained a Bachelors degree in Biology and Chemistry from UCCS in 2007, and a Masters degree in Curriculum and Instruction in December of 2010. He was a middle school science teacher in Harrison School District Two for 10 years and served in many leadership capacities at the school and district levels, including the District Advisory Committee (DAC). Jason recently left teaching to spend more time with his two children and to pursue his passion in financial services and retirement planning. He has been married to his amazing wife Tiffany for over nine years and they currently have two children: a 2.5 year old son and a 6 month old daughter. Jason spends his free time mountain biking, camping and spending as much time with his family as possible!
When elected, Jason will advocate for parent choice and what is truly best for students, he will come alongside our teachers and support staff, and be a strong advocate for trade jobs, financial literacy in graduates, and he will advocate to bolster our current mental health support system. Jason has the education background and experience necessary to serve as an outstanding board member in District 11! He will be a listening ear to our community and will serve the community and the district in the heart of our city well! He would be happy to answer any other questions you may have, so please don’t hesitate to reach out to him. Thank you!
We love our volunteers, so please reach out if you'd love to help with our cause!

As a middle school science teacher for 10 years, Jason excelled in his classroom and held many school and district leadership positions.
Jason coached many middle school sport teams over the years, and was involved in after school clubs as well. One club, Etiquette & Economics, taught manners, etiquette, and financial literacy skills to teens.
Because Jason holds a Master's degree in Curriculum and Instruction, he will be a valuable resource to the district's school board in reviewing and implementing curriculum and guiding insight into quality instruction.
What's happening with your children in their classroom? As a parent, you should know what your kids are learning. With ever changing legislation and curriculum changes, parents need to stay involved and be notified of what's going on in the classroom with their kids.
As more baby boomers retire each day, there is a severe need for our young people to enter the trade jobs. Plumbers, electricians, carpenters, welders, and mechanics are desperately needed today, but are often overlooked professions. Graduates should be encouraged to pursue a career in the trades.
Mental Health and support staff are invaluable resources in our schools. Counselors, PARAs and social workers are often overburdened with other tasks that don't allow them to serve entirely in their roles and duties. I will work to help alleviate this issue.
